Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated several projects and laid the foundation stone of many vital schemes worth over Rs 4,000 crore for Arunachal Pradesh at a function in the state's capital Itanagar.
On the occasion, PM Modi said, "Today, I got the opportunity to lay the foundation of projects worth more than Rs 4,000 crore rupees in Arunachal Pradesh. With this not only will the connectivity in the area improve, but the power sector of the state will also strengthen."
"I have repeatedly said that new India will only grow at its fullest power when eastern India, North East is at a rapid pace of growth. These are also of development resources and also of culture. These development is also connecting individual areas and also adding hearts," he added.
Modi laid the foundation stone for construction of 'Greenfield Airport' at Hollongi and inaugurated a 'Retrofitted Airport' at Tezu in Lohit district through a remote.
"In a bid to achieve development, two airports are being inaugurated and in Arunachal today. The foundation stone for the same will also be laid. This is an opportunity for the state as after independence there has never been a single airport here where a large passenger plane could come, the PM said.
He inaugurated the new Doordarshan channel for Arunachal Pradesh, DD Arun Prabha.
While talking about the same Modi said, "The central government is committed to preserve, and develop the culture, language, living, and development of every region in the country. This is why our government has launched its 24-hour TV channel Arun Prabha here to strengthen the culture of Arunachal Pradesh."
The prime minister also dedicated to the nation the 110 MW Pare Hydroelectric Plant and laid the foundation stone for a permanent campus of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) at Jote.
The PM inaugurated 50 health and wellness centers in the state also through remote at the function at IG Park.
