Telangana BJP dared Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to spell out his party's stand on the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya to prove his claim of being a real Hindu than the BJP.
Addressing media here on Monday, State BJP president Dr K Laxman said the TRS chief had claimed that he was a "real Hindu" than the BJP at an election meeting held in Karimnagar on Sunday. No one asked TRS chief to prove his Hindu credentials. Yet, he has been making such claims. "Majlis had never hidden their anti-Hindu ideology with their threats and insults against Hindu gods and goddesses. KCR is worried about his party's electoral fortunes in the ensuing elections for being a close ally of the Majlis," he said.
Laxman said KCR is more like a "real Majlis than Hindu". When crores of Hindus across the country wanted construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, being a political party, the TRS could not spell out its stand. This shows the double standards of the TRS chief," he said. Taking strong objection to KCR drawing a comparison between China and India, he asked KCR, as to what were his real intentions behind belittling the country drawing a comparison between India and China.
"China is governed by a single party under a dictatorial rule against a federal and democratic form of governance in India. The only exception is that there is no family rule. He alleged that TRS wants single family rule and was hence encouraging wholesale defections from the Congress to ensure that there was no opposition in the legislature. The TRS chief, he said, was propagating openly that he would adopt his model of encouraging defections for the entire country if people give him 16 Lok Sabha seats from Telangana, Laxman added.
Similarly, KCR had raised questions over issues related to River Sutlej and other pending disputes like Jammu and Kashmir. But, the same KCR was not seen anywhere when political parties, including BJP, was fighting against the construction of Babli project in Maharashtra and other irrigation infrastructure in the upper stream of Krishna by Karnataka, he said. KCR, who has poor attendance in Parliament during his tenure as MP, wants to rule the country. "But, his daydream to run the country like in Telangana from Pragati Bhavan and farmhouse will not materialise," he said.
Laxman said the TRS chief also claims to have achieved separate Telangana with two MPs. But the fact is that he was not present in Lok Sabha at the time of introduction of the bill. If BJP had not supported the bill at that time, neither the state would have been bifurcated nor KCR would have become the Chief Minister, he said.
Laxman said the TRS chief had earlier vowed to expose AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi in the Old City, for acting hand in glove with the then Congress Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and creating hurdles for separate Telangana. But, now, he claims AIMIM whom he once called as a beggar's party as a natural ally, Laxman said.
