After bowling the Super Over for KKR on Sunday against Delhi Capitals and ending up on the losing side, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Prasidh Krishna said that six consistent balls by Kagiso Rabada proved to be the difference in the end.
Speaking to Cricketnext, Krishna said, “I think Rabada has shown time and again that he is a world class bowler. That’s what a bowler has to do.
“A bowler has to be consistent in that situation. It had to be six consistent balls, and Rabada was able to do it.”
After going for 33 runs in his four overs, Krishna was picked by KKR captain Dinesh Karthik to bowl the decisive super over, after the away side clawed back into the match from what looked like an impossible position. He then went on to restrict Delhi Capitals to ten runs in the super over and also took the wicket of Shreyas Iyer in the process.
However, Rabada gave away only seven runs while defending the score, and took the wicket of the dangerous Andre Russell.
Speaking about the faith shown in him to bowl the super over, Krishna said, “I think firstly, that’s the happiest thing, when the team trusts you to bowl that one over which is going to decide the result of the match.
“That is the confidence that is shown in me. So yes, it definitely helps me in my confidence, and I enjoy taking responsibility for the team.”
