Budget airline SpiceJet reported a net profit of Rs 261.7 crore for the quarter ended June. This resulted in a loss of Rs 38.1 crore to the airline in the same quarter of the previous financial year. A statement issued by SpiceJet said that its total income rose to Rs 3,145.3 crore during the quarter. The company's total income in the June quarter of the previous fiscal was Rs 2,253.3 crore. SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh said that the quarterly results could have been better if the 737 Max aircraft had not been built.
