In India, wholesale inflation moderated in July last month. According to data released by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the wholesale price index-based inflation has come down to 1.08 percent in July from 2.02 percent in June. On a month-on-month basis, wholesale food inflation declined from 5.04 per cent to 4.54 per cent in July, the bulk inflation of vegetables declined from 24.76 per cent to 10.67 per cent, wholesale inflation of eggs, meat and fish from 5.64 per cent to 3.16 per cent in the previous month. Wholesale inflation of pulses declined from 23.06 percent in May to 20.08 percent, inflation in onion also decreased to 7.63 percent from 16.63 percent in June, wholesale price of potato was -23.63 percent as against 24.27 percent, wholesale inflation of primary articles It has declined from 6.72 per cent in May to 5.03 per cent. Fuel-electricity wholesale inflation declined in July, it has come down to -3.64 percent from -2.20 percent in June. On a month-on-month basis, wholesale prices of manufactured products declined from 0.94 per cent to 0.34 per cent in July. At the same time, the wholesale inflation of non-food articles has come down from 5.06 percent to 4.29 percent.
