In view of the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the IndiGo airline recently decided to refund the full fare on rescheduling or cancellation of all its flights to or from Srinagar. Now its date has increased till 23 August. Earlier, Air Asia had also made similar announcements on flights. Vistara Airlines and SpiceJet also announced full refund of fares on cancellation or cancellation of flights connected to Srinagar. Earlier, the airline IndiGo fixed the fare for the flights departing from the Srinagar airport according to the distance. This distance based fare was implemented at a time when the Jammu and Kashmir administration had asked the Amarnath pilgrims and tourists to leave the valley citing terrorist threat. In fact, the number of flight ticket bookings started increasing after the advisory issued for Amarnath travelers and tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. In such a situation, the Ministry of Civil Aviation had also given instructions to regularize fares from all airlines.
