 Maruti fired three thousand employees

In view of the sluggishness in the auto sector, more than 3,000 temporary employees of India's leading auto maker Maruti Suzuki have been fired. A top company official gave this information. RC Bhargava, chairman of Maruti Suzuki, said the contract for temporary employees has not been renewed while the softening in the auto sector has not been impacted by the permanent employees. Bhargava said that it is part of the business, when demand increases, more employees are recruited on contract and when the demand decreases, their number is reduced. He said that about 3,000 temporary workers associated with Maruti Suzuki have lost their jobs. The auto sector creates jobs related to sales, service, insurance, licenses, financing, drivers, petrol pumps, transportation in the economy. He cautioned that a slight drop in vehicle sales would affect jobs in a big way.
