New Delhi: The Delhi government today signed a twin city agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government for strengthening cooperation in the fields of e-governance, transportation, climate change and smart city.
The agreement – Establishment of Friendship City Relationship – was signed between Seoul (South Korea) Metropolitan Government led by Mayor Park Won Soon and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Speaking on the occasion, Kejriwal said, “It is interesting to have a twin city agreement to establish friendship and cooperation.”
Other areas of cooperation that the agreement proposes are – environment, culture & tourism, education, waste water, solid waste management, public health and youth exchange among others.
The agreement now needs the Union government’s approval to come into effect.
