Veteran Tamil actor Kamal Haasan has confirmed, after months of speculation, that he will be entering politics by forming his own party no later than the end of this month, in an interview to a TV new channel. He was speaking to CNN News 18 when he revealed that he’s starting a party by the end of the month.
This comes at a time of political turmoil Tamil Nadu where the ruling AIADMK faction tries desperately to prove its strength in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
Kamal Haasan has, meanwhile, continued his verbal attack on the state’s political leaders, especially strongly criticising the functioning of the government. On Friday, the actor lashed out on Twitter against the state’s MLAs for ‘not doing their duty’ in a reference to the 18 MLAs that have supported ousted party deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran and are quarantined in a resort in Coorg. He asked the Madras High Court to intervene.
