After raiding the residences of premises of the relatives and those who are closely associated with VK Sasikala and TTV Dhinakaran, I-T sleuths have now raided the Poes Garden residence of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
AIADMK cadres who’ve been demanding that the home of their ‘Amma’ be turned into a memorial for her are upset with the development.
Once described as a place of iron-curtains, Poes Garden was occupied by IT sleuths at around 9.30 pm. They came there with the prior permission from the court to reportedly search the chamber of Poongundran, Jayalalithaa’s secretary. A few days ago, the I-T department raided the
residence of Poongundran. Nearly 30 minutes later, more I-T officials joined their colleagues in search operations.
Around 10.40 pm, Jaya TV CEO Vivek Jayaraman arrived at the spot and after a few minutes’ delay, he was allowed inside Poes Garden. However, his advocate, Raja Senthoor Pandian was not allowed. He told mediapesons that he had sought the permission to be inside the Poes Garden residence as the counsel of VK Sasikala and he was awaiting permission from the I-T officials.
Meanwhile, former MLA VT Kalairajan, who arrived there, blamed the Central government for the I-T raids.
Hearing about the raids, TTV Dhinakaran tweeted condemning it.
He said, “Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam are behind these raids. They have betrayed the soul of Amma. They are committing this betrayal to protect their posts. Both EPS and OPS should answer the 1.5 crore cadre of the AIADMK for the raids being conducted at the Poes Garden residence of Jayalalithaa.”
