It was a bright sunny day on Thursday in Himachal Pradesh after days of snowfall in Shimla, Dalhousie and Manali as temperatures went sub-zero at most of the places.
The meteorological office here said the western disturbance has almost withdrawn from the region, but temperatures would remain abnormally low till weekend.
"It was bright and sunny after two days of widespread snow and rain," an official of the Met office told IANS. The minimum temperature was minus 0.4 degree in Shimla, which saw 10 cm of snow.
Shimla's nearby destinations like Kufri, Fagu and Narkanda also experienced snowfall in the past two days. Snow could be seen in certain areas of Shimla like the Mall Road, the Ridge, the US Club and Jakhu hills.
Keylong, district headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, was the coldest in the state at a minimum of minus 15.1 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw a low of minus 9.7 degrees, while the minimum temperature was minus 5.4 degrees in Manali, minus 1.9 degrees in Dalhousie, minus 5 in Kufri and 2 degrees Celsius in Dharamsala.
