The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday evening rejected Deepa Jayakumar’s nomination papers for the upcoming RK Nagar byelection. The nomination was reportedly turned down owing to certain ‘discrepancies’ in a form.

The bypoll which is necessitated has already been courted several controversies and had to be postponed earlier owing to bribery allegations and the two leaves symbol case.
