Kadapa: Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu today said that the Kadapa steel factory, whose plans have been dormant since the state’s bifurcation in 2014, may materialise soon.
He told a gathering at the centenary function of the Annie Besant School here that a high level committee is looking into the issue and it will submit its report in another ten days.
Naidu said he was in touch with the central steel Minister as well.
He added that he had put in all efforts, as a minister earlier, and also now for establishing a steel factory in Kadapa.
Naidu said that if the report was not in favor of establishing a steel factory, then some other industry connected to the steel industry would be established in the district.
Speaking about the school, the Vice-President praised Mopuram Subba Reddy who made the first donation of Rs 26000 way back in 1904-5 to establish the school.
He later unveiled the centenary pylon erected in the school campus.
