Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday issued directions for an extensive campaign of contact mapping of coronavirus infected people belonging to Tablighi Jamaat.
He said such people should be kept in quarantine till they were not medically examined.
Addressing officials through video conference, Thakur urged the people to come forward to identify such people in their areas to check the further spread of coronavirus.
He said the state would not hesitate in taking strict action against those who would conceal information about their travel history and those who give shelter to them.
Thakur said the ESI Hospital in Baddi in Solan district has been notified as a hospital for treatment of COVID-19 positive patients from Solan and Sirmaur districts.
Thakur said under the Active Case Finding Campaign, information of 41 lakh people was collected by health workers during door-to-door campaign.
He said 4,684 people have been kept under surveillance, out of which 2,188 have completed 28 days of surveillance period.
He said investigations of 79 people have been done on Tuesday, out of which 22 samples have been found negative and report of 57 samples are still awaited.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) R.D. Dhiman said 534 people have so far been investigated for coronavirus.
So far, 18 people were tested positive out of which two people have been discharged.
In addition, four persons have gone for treatment outside the state and one person has died.
