Now Arunachal CM praises Telangana Police for prompt action

Hyderabad, After Union Minister of State Kiren Rijiju, Telangana Police has received appreciation from Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu for responding to distress call from a group of Arunachali students who were evicted from paying guest accommodation in Hyderabad.

Rachakonda police came to the rescue of the students when the owner of the building on Kothapet asked the students to move out.

Police personnel from Chaitanyapuri not only counseled the owner to allow the students to stay on but also provided them with one month ration.

"A call has been received Mr Mohan Rebe that 4 other Arunachalee students are staying in a PG in Kottapet, Rangareddy & being evicted from their accomodation. On that immediately Chaitanyapuri SHO provided them 1 month ration & counselled to owner to continue their stay," tweeted Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mohan Bhagwat.

Rachakonda is one of the three police commissionerates covering Hyderabad and its surroundings.

Arunachal Chief Minister lauded the action taken by the police. "I would like to thank Shri M Mahender Reddy, DGP Telangana for responding to distress calls of Arunachalee students in the state and resolving those matters," tweeted Khandu.

"Thank you sir. We feel honoured serving people. And this is a test time for everyone across the world. As you said #TogetherWeWin in this war. Caring for one another is, like a lamp of good hope, and everything is in it," the DGP replied.

This is the second incident of alleged racism in Hyderabad in as many days. It comes close on the heels of a supermarket in Vanasthalipuram denying entry to two students from Manipur for looking like foreigners.

Rachakonda police swung into action after a video went viral and Telangana's Industry Minister K. T. Rama Rao intervened. They arrested supermarket's manager and two security guards.

Earlier in the day, Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Rijiju praised Telangana Police for its prompt action against the supermarket.
