New Delhi, The Congress has asked its state, district and block units to celebrate the Ambedkar Jayanti on Tuesday by reaching out to the poor, needy and the marginalised with all possible help in the difficult situation due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
But all the activities should adhare to the social distancing norms and safety guidelines, it said.
The Congress asked leaders and workers to avoid congregations and observe the Ambedkar Jayanti at their homes.
The circular was issued by K.C. Venugopal, General Secretary (organisation). "Given the extreme distress due to Covid-19 transmission and lockdown, the AICC has instructed PCCs to actively engage in the distribution of food and essential items to the affected people on the day," it said.
The party has asked its social media departments and online platforms to highlight Ambedkar's messages and his unparalleled struggle towards equality and social justice, on the occasion.
