Amid lockdown, students start morning with workouts

New Delhi, Various educational institutions have launched live fitness sessions for school children alongwith online or virtual classes after the Ministry of Home Affairs directed all the institutions to cultivate overall physical, emotional and mental well-being among children.

The live fitness class started at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday issued revised guidelines and linked online courses with physical exercise and fitness.

Following this initiative of the Ministry, now trained yoga teachers and experts are holding live fitness session classes for the students to help them stay fit both physically and mentally amid the lockdown.

Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said "I have spoken to Union Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju for the purpose of ensuring the fitness of students. Physical education on online channel launched for students under a joint effort by CBSE and Fit India, will run a special session. "

These special live classes for students were conducted via YouTube. Also, it can be seen through other mediums of social media such as Facebook and Instagram. The facility of downloading workout and yoga classes has also been provided for students.

According to the HRD ministry, these health-related classes will be held regularly for the next 30 days.
