Mumbai, On the occasion of Shani Jayanti on Friday, actor Daya Shankar Pandey says playing the character of Lord Shani in a TV show had personally influenced his life in a positive manner.
" 'Mahima Shani Dev Ki' came to me as an instant offer. I was asked to audition for it and within 30 minutes, I was offered the lead role," he said.
"Playing the character of Lord Shani has personally influenced my life in a positive manner. According to me, Lord Shani is the teacher of life. Tough times test the real you, and the lessons I have learnt while portraying Lord Shani have immensely helped me in my real life," he added.
The show aimed at breaking myths and misunderstandings surrounding Lord Shani.
"I am glad that Dangal TV channel is re-airing 'Mahima Shani Dev Ki' during the lockdown. The show has been doing extremely well and I am sure it will continue to entertain its viewers," he said.
On the occasion of Shani Jayanti, he said he will be offering prayers to the deity.
"I am praying for the well-being of all, especially the migrants who are facing tough times. I pray twice a day as I believe it helps me to stay calm and positive. Amidst these stressful situations, I am trying to connect with God. I would urge everyone to connect with the almighty as it will help one to sail through these tough times," he said.
