At unprecedented press conference, 4 SC judges blame CJI

In an unprecedented move, Justice J Chelameswar and three other judges of the Supreme Court held a press conference at 12.15 pm on Friday. 

The three other judges are Justice Madan B Lokur, Ranjan Gogoi and Kurian Joseph who were a part of this unusual presser at Justice Chelameswar's residence reportedly on transparency in assigning judicial cases, according to TV reports. 

Justice Chelameshwar says that their efforts to convince the CJI on wrong doings failed.  "We are speaking on our own behalf and hence our efforts for the past few months failed, we would not like nation blame us for not speaking our 'minds out," he said.

He also refused to respond to a specific question, whether the senior four judges will move 'no confidence' against the CJI.

He admitted: "we failed in all our efforts and feel country's democracy is at peril."

A letter signed by the four judges to the CJI raising specific wrong doings was also released to the media.
