In one of the biggest victories in the fight against Naxalism, 16 Naxalites were killed in Etapalli's Boriya forest area in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. No casualities were reported on the side of our forces.

Special Inspector General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sharad Shelar said that out of 16 bodies recovered, 9 were male & remaining were female.He also said that they had modern weapons.

Search operations are still on as it is suspected that Naxalites could launch attacks during the night on security forces. The naxal death toll is expected to go upto 25 by the time the operation ends.
