Actor Sudeep began campaigning for the BJP candidate, Narasimha Naik, in Surpur on Saturday.

Mr. Sudeep conducted roadshows in Kakkera, Kodekal, Hunsagi and Surpur towns.

Earlier, talking to reporters, he said that he was campaigning because of his friendship with Mr. Naik. “I don’t have any interest in politics. But I will campaign for my close friends, who are contesting the elections, irrespective of the party they belong to,” he said.

Congress candidate Raja Venkatappa Naik told presspersons that that there will be no impact by Mr. Sudeep’s campaigning. “People will only see development not actors,” he added.
