In a shocking incident, a minor girl has been killed here, allegedly by her relatives, for not offering namaz. Reports said the crime took place in Antop Hill area, Mumbai. The police have arrested three women, including a minor, for the murder, NDTV reported. The girl was strangulated to death, as per the report, for not offering namaz during Friday prayers.

As per details available, the girl was forced by the relatives to offer namaz during Friday prayers every week but she used to resist. Last week, the girl refused to do so again. Angry over her refusal, the minor’s aunt strangled her with a dupatta.

In a bid to show the murder as a natural death, the relatives took the girl’s body to Sion Hospital and told doctors that she had slipped in the bathroom and died. The doctors, however, got suspicious and called local. The doctors had spotted injury marks on the victim’s neck.

The aunt told police during interrogation that she had killed the girl.

The girl belonged to a poor family and had been living with her relatives after losing her mother. The incident has left the girl’s father in a shock. He only asked, as per NDTV, “Why did they kill my daughter? They could have complained to me.”
