10 people were killed and 47 others were injured as a bus rammed into a stationary truck in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh in the wee hours of Monday morning. The truck was stranded on the road due to some technical reasons, the police said.
The private bus was on its way to Ahmedabad from Banda in Uttar Pradesh when it hit the rear side of the truck near Ruthiyai town in Madhya Pradesh at 4:30 am. The driver and seven other persons died on the spot while three others succumbed to injuries, Guna police station in-charge Vivek Asthana told news agency PTI.
Nine men and a one-and-a-half-year-old girl were among the deceased. The injured were rushed to the nearby district hospital where they were admitted. Among the injured, three are in critical condition, Asthana said. The police said that a case was also registered in connection with the accident.
