Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma on Monday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah doesn’t have the knowledge or respect for the Constitution . Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Sharma said that even if he (Amit Shah) has the knowledge of the Constitution, he doesn’t respect it.

Sharma’s statement came hours after BJP president Amit Shah addressed the first press conference after the resignation of BS Yeddyurappa as Karnataka chief minister. In the conference, Shah had said that BJP emerged as the single largest party and their vote share saw a major increase. The mandate was clearly anti-Congress. Congress & JD(S) formed an alliance against the people’s mandate, he added.

Amit Shah also accused Congress of misusing Article 356 in the history. He said that the Congress has no right to preach about Constitution and Democracy. It is the same party which banned the media during the emergency.
