Rajesh Kunte, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker who filed defamation case against Congress president Rahul Gandhi has alleged on Tuesday that “Special treatment was given to Rahul Gandhi and his people”.
“Special treatment was given to Rahul Gandhi and his people. I am complainant and still was not allowed inside court without being frisked but Rahul Gandhi and his people went in without frisking despite him being accused. Police was biased,” he said, reported ANI.
A Bhiwandi court on Tuesday framed charges against Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case filed against him by the RSS worker in 2014. Rahul, who appeared before the court, pleaded 'not guilty' following which charges were framed under section IPC 499 & 500 against him.
On Tuesday morning, Rahul Gandhi arrived at Mumbai airport to appear before a magistrate court in Bhiwandi, Thane, in connection with the defamation case.
It was filed following Gandhi's utterances at a rally in Thane in March 2014 in which he had accused the RSS of killing Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.
Later, as a part of a crucial exercise ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Gandhi will travel to Mumbai. He will directly interact with the party's over 15,000 booth-level workers at a function in Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon.
The function would mark the launch of a national endeavour, "Project Shakti". Via this, Rahul Gandhi would establish direct communication between the grassroots workers and the party's central leadership.
"Project Shakti will ensure connect with the ground-level workers. Also, it will help us look at problems of Mumbai at the micro level," tweeted Sanjay Nirupam.
