Amit Shah in West Bengal: Bengal didn't develop but the goons of Trinamool Congress developed

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Thursday said that the development schemes of the Modi government at the Centre are not reaching West Bengal because of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in the state. Saying that the goons of TMC 'developed' during the TMC rule in West Bengal, Shah said that the only factories running in the state are 'bomb-making factories'.

"Development schemes of Modi government are not reaching to the people of West Bengal because of TMC government. Bengal didn't develop but the goons of TMC developed. All factories have shut down in the state only bomb-making factories are running successfully," Shah said during a rally in Purulia. He added that under the UPA government, the 13th Finance Commission gave West Bengal only Rs 1,32,000 crore, whereas the 14th Finance Commission during the BJP rule at the Centre gave the state Rs 3,60,000 crore for the development of the state.

If Trinamool Congress thinks that through violence they can continue to remain in power in Bengal, then I would like to challenge them that the sacrifice of our workers will not go in vain and their govt will not last long"," Shah added. Shah, who is on a two-day visit to the state arrived in Kolkata on Wednesday. In his rally on Wednesday, he said that PM Modi's vision of India is in line with the song Vande Mataram, written by Bengali writer Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.

The BJP is aiming 26 of 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the 2019 General elections.
