HC Moved For Appointing Adminstrator For Jaya’s Estate

HC Moved For Appointing Adminstrator For Jaya’s Estate

Chennai: Two persons claiming to be AIADMK members have approached the Madras High Court seeking “letters of administration” to them or appointment of “appropriate persons” to preserve the estate of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

In their petition filed under the Indian Succession Act, K Pugazhenthi and P Janakiraman said the value of the properties was not less than Rs.913,41,68,179 for the present.

They submitted that it was just and necessary that the property of the deceased worth several crores of rupees should be preserved.

The petitioners said that in view of ‘nebulous’ situation surrounding the death of Jayalalithaa and her vast extent of property assets and effects, a proper administration of the estate was required at the intervention of the court.

Pugazhenthi said he was holding the post of South Chennai District Deputy Secretary of J Jayalalitha Peravai.

The petitioners further submitted that they had no personal interest except in seeking the jurisdiction of the court for grant of the Letter of Administration.
