A charge sheet filed against designated terrorist and mafia don Dawood Ibrahim and his brothers Iqbal Kaskar and Anees Ibrahim, in connection with an extortion case, reveals that Ibrahim runs the extortion racket through his younger brother Kaskar. According to the complaint filed by a prominent Thane builder, Kaskar threatened him and demanded Rs 3 crore for a 38-acre land deal in Mumbai’s Gorai area.
Threatening the builder over phone Kaskar said, “This property belongs to Dawood and Anees so vacate this property, otherwise appropriate action will be taken.” Further police investigation revealed the role of Dawood and Anees.
“The charge sheet, which runs into thousands of pages, lists the evidences against the accused,” the police official said. “The vital documents attached to the charge sheet include papers related to the land deal along with payment proof. It also includes statement of the witnesses,” reported HT.

All the three accused have been booked under sections 384 (extortion), 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt) and 387 (putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion) of the Indian Penal Code at Thane police station, reported HT.
Iqbal Kaskar is the younger brother of Dawood Ibrahim and is currently lodged in Thane jail in an extortion case. Deported from Dubai to India in 2003 to stand trial in a murder case and the Sara Sahara illegal construction case, Kaskar was acquitted in both cases in 2007. It is believed that he runs Dawood’s business in India and is involved in extortion, gold and narcotics smuggling.
