Reports of 100m Ronaldo move to Juventus gather steam

The reports of Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer to Italian giants Juventus from Real Madrid is gaining traction across European media and if the former Juve CEO Luciano Moggi is to be believed, the deal transfer has already been completed following a successful medical in Munich and an official announcement could be expected soon.

Soon after helping Real Madrid beat Liverpool in the 2017-18 Champions League final, Cristiano Ronaldo hinted at a possible exit from Los Blancos as he promised to issue a clarification on his future soon. With the FIFA World Cup 2018 right around the corner, Ronaldo got busy with the preparations for the quadrennial event with Portugal and the focus from his club career drifted away.

As Portugal got eliminated by Uruguay in the Round of 16, the next news on Ronaldo was his switch to Juventus in a reported EUR 100 million deal, which Real Madrid had also apparently agreed to. While there isn't any official update on the subject from either clubs, former Juve CEO Moggi is reporting that a deal is done.

"In my opinion, he has already signed and passed the medical examination with Juventus in Munich," Moggi told Italian TV network Tele7Gold. "This is what I think after talking to important people."

Moggi also revealed that he had the opportunity to sign an 18-year-old Ronaldo from Sporting but the deal couldn't be completed.

"I received an alert," said Moggi. "I sent an observer to look at him, he was an 18-year-old boy, but he impressed me with his maturity and his choices. In the middle of the day, I made the contract. Unfortunately, Marcelo Salas refused to sign for Sporting Lisbon because he wanted to return to River Plate. I offered five million more for an 18-year-old player, but it could not be done at that time."

While a transfer looks likely to be happening, Juventus would surely be the ultimate favourites for top laurels in European football in the coming season with Cristiano Ronaldo.
