Is Eden Hazard set to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid? Here's what Chelsea star said

Ending weeks of speculation, Juventus finally made it official on Tuesday evening that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will be moving from Real Madrid to Turin. The deal thus ended the reigning Ballon d'Or winner's glorious nine years of stay at Santiago Bernabeu. But speculations now revolve around his replacement for Los Blancos and reports claim Eden Hazard as a strong option.

Hazard is presently in Russia with his Belgium squad whom he has led to the semifinals of FIFA World Cup 2018. However, a defensive France side outclassed valiant Belgium at St Petersburg Stadium on Tuesday to reach their first World Cup final in 12 years. Meanwhile, the glorious run of Belgium's golden generation came to a halt.

Amid the World Cup preparation on Tuesday, Hazard talked about the speculations surrounding his rumoured transfer to Real Madrid. "For now, I'm thinking about the World Cup. We're waiting to hear what happens because there's a lot of discussions. We don't know if the manager is leaving," he told in an interview with beIN SPORTS.

Reports claim that Maurizio Sarri might replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea bring an end to the Italian's two-year stay at Stamford Bridge.

"No, not at all, but this is an important development. For now, I'd be happy to stay, I still have two years on my contract. For now, there's no one who wants to buy me. As I've said 100 times before, I'm very happy at Chelsea."

However, when asked about his possible transfer to Real Madrid, Hazard remained tight-lipped saying the revelation will come about after World Cup 2018.

"We'll see. Unfortunately, there's no Champions League this year, of course, we always want to play in that competition. I just want to play the games. We'll see what happens."

I think Real Madrid is everyone's dream. Zidane or no Zidane, the white shirt is special. But the blue shirt suits me well, so everything's fine, and staying doesn't bother me," he added.

Hazard-led Belgium will stay in Russia till the end of this week to play the third-place playoff at the Saint Petersburg Stadium on Saturday.
