The succession war within the DMK is expected to settle as its general counsel is all set to elevate the working President of the party MK Stalin as its new President. The post was lying vacant since the demise of his father M Karunanidhi on August 7. However, Stalin’s brother Alagiri had claimed that supporters of the party are with him and he is not opposed to rejoining the party and take over as DMK President. The general council meeting today will decide on the new party president. Stalin is the only one, who has filed nomination for the post.
