Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated Dussehra with BSF jawans posted along the Indo-Pak border in Bikaner on Friday. The minister, who reviewed the security situation along the border, during an interaction with the BSF soldiers said, "Our weapons remain calm, so long as the enemy's weapons are at peace across the border."
The Union Minister also performed 'shashtra puja' with the jawans at the forward post.
Singh also stressed on the need to equip the security forces with the latest technology to improve their combat efficiency. He assured the Border Security Force (BSF) that the government would provide them with the latest technological solutions to strengthen the border security. He added that modern technology has advanced enough that it reduces the need for round-the-clock patrol by human soldiers, especially along the border, adding that thus, soldiers are made free for critical operations that need more efficiency.
Citing the example of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, "We have built an impenetrable fence along the Line of Control (LoC), which has curbed infiltration... Soon, such fences will be raised along the borders in the entire country, making India an impregnable fort."
The Home Minister also lauded the BSF soldiers for their contribution in keeping the country safe. He said the people of the nation had faith in the BSF jawans and it had increased rapidly recently. He also claimed that the Pakistani rangers were jittery due to prowess of the BSF. Singh said he had seen their hard work when they guarded borders and also in Naxal and terrorism-affected areas.
