In a shocking incident, a youth in West Bengal has been accused of raping a 100-year-old lady, who is his neighbour. The incident has been reported from Chakdah in Nadia district of the state. The 20-year-old youth has been arrested by police. He was produced in a Kalyani court on Wednesday which sent him to two weeks judicial custody. 

According to Zee 24 Ghanta, the accused Avijit  Biswas entered the lady's home located in Ganga Prasadpur village if Chakdah on Monday late night. She was alone in the room at that time and Avijit reportedly took full use of it. 

Soon, people from the lady's family rushed in after hearing her cries. Abhijit who wasn't expecting the family members to come tried to hide beneath the bed of the victim. However, his refuge was short lived and Chakda police soon nabbed him. The victim's family has filed a written complaint in the police.
