rime Minister Narendra Modi will on Wednesday unveil the 'Statue of Unity' in Gujarat's Narmada district on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The 182-metre structure of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is touted as the world's tallest.
It is twice the height of the Statue of Liberty in the US and is built on Sadhu Bet, an islet near the Sardar Sarovar Dam.
The statue will be unveiled on the occasion of the fourth Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), which is observed every year on the birthday of freedom fighter and India's first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
"We bow to the great Sardar Patel, the stalwart who unified India and served the nation tirelessly, on his Jayanti," said Modi in a tweet:
देश को एकता के सूत्र में पिरोने वाले लौह पुरुष सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल को उनकी जयंती पर कोटि-कोटि नमन।

We bow to the great Sardar Patel, the stalwart who unified India and served the nation tirelessly, on his Jayanti.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore flagged off 'Run for Unity' in Delhi. Gymnast Dipa Karmakar was among other sportspeople who were present.
On Tuesday evening, Modi who arrived in Gujarat was welcomed by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Governor O P Kohli, Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja and chief secretary J N Singh upon his arrival at the Ahmedabad airport.
"It's a historical day as the tallest statue in the world - statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who united India, will be dedicated to the nation. It was dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since the time he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. His dream is coming true," said Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
However, the CPI flayed the Narendra Modi government for 'splurging' nearly Rs 3,000 crore on building Sardar Patel's gigantic statue at a time when debt-ridden farmers are 'being driven to suicide' and millions of people are defecating in the open for want of sanitation facilities.
