At least two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammju and Kashmir’s Budgam on Thursday.

1 terrorist is still believed to be hiding in the area.

According to an official statement, the encounter took place in Zagoo area of KhanSahib in Budgam district.

After getting credible inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, a team of police and security forces jointly launched search operations.

The hiding terrorists opened fire on the search party which was retaliated by the security forces leading to an encounter.

"In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists were neutralized. Their identities are being ascertained." the statement said.

It also added that incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter.

Police has registered a case and initiated investigation in the instant matter.
