Amid internal CBI war, 150 officials to attend Sri Sri's 3-day Art of Living workshop to 'enhance positivity'

Over 150 CBI officials are expected to attend a three-day Art of Living workshop for 'enhancing positivity' in the organisation.

According to a statement released by the CBI, officials ranking from inspectors right up to in-charge director, CBI will be attending the event.

Earlier in the day, CBI Director Alok Verma met Central Vigilance Commissioner K V Chowdary in connection with an inquiry into corruption charges levelled against him by his deputy and special director in the probe agency Rakesh Asthana, officials said.

Verma appeared before the panel headed by Chowdary and comprising Vigilance Commissioners Sharad Kumar and T M Bhasin among others, they said, without citing any other details.

The Supreme Court had on October 26 asked the Central Vigilance Commission to complete within two weeks its inquiry into the allegations against Verma levelled by Asthana.

Verma and Asthana have been sent on leave by the government.

Verma had also on Thursday met Chowdary and Kumar in connection with the inquiry.

In the battle between the top two CBI officials, the agency had earlier said it has shared all files pertaining to allegations against director Alok Kumar Verma with the CVC, which is conducting a probe against him. The CVC probe is being monitored by retired Supreme Court judge AK Pattnaik, and it has sought all files related to cases of corruption, in which special director Rakesh Asthana had alleged that Verma was unduly favouring the accused.
