All surveys, analysis pointing towards Congress victory: TPCC President Uttam

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has strongly condemned caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for targetting the alliance between Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI.

Addressing a press conference after performing pooja in Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Mattapally in Huzurnagar constituency on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy accused KCR of creating confusion among people by inciting regional feelings. "TRS has ruled the State for four-and-a-half years and it should speak only about its achievements. KCR must give a balance sheet of his electoral promises and performance. Since the progress report is totally blank, KCR is trying to divert people's attention by speaking against the opposition parties," he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy pointed out that KCR, while addressing a press conference immediately after dissolving the Assembly on September 6, had claimed that his party was getting over 50% votes and would win more than 80 seats. KCR had also claimed that the alliance between opposition parties would not affect his party in any manner. But the formation of People's Front has sent shockwaves leading KCR to tremble with fear of a humiliating defeat. Consequently, KCR has now started targetting the alliance, especially Congress and TDP, he said.

The TPCC chief strongly condemned KCR for targetting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. "KCR must clarify whether Chandrababu Naidu stopped him from providing one job for every household, three acres of land for Dalits and Girijans or 12% reservation for Muslims and STs. Who created obstacles in implementaiton of all other electoral promises?" he asked while adding that KCR cheated all sections of the society while in power and now he was trying to instill fear among people through false propaganda.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said TRS leaders have no moral right to seek votes from any section of Telangana and people in all 119 Assembly constituencies have realised they have been duped by KCR regime. By advancing the Assembly elections, KCR has dug his own political grave. He said people of Telangana have already decided to bring Congress-led People's Front to power. He said all surveys and political analysis were clearly pointing towards a clear victory for Congress party and its allies.

The TPCC Chief said the next government of People's Front would implement schemes for the welfare of Dalits, Girijans, Backward Classes, Minorities, Women, Youth, Students and other sections. He said nearly women Self Help Groups would be given a grant of Rs. 1 lakh and loans up to Rs. 10 lakh would be arranged for them and their interest would be paid by the government. He said all White Ration Card holders would get fine rice of 7 kg per individual and the old system of providing nine essential commodities at subsidised rates at ration shops would be restored. He said poor Dalit and Girijan families would get free ration and all BPL families would be provided six LPG cylinders at free of cost. Poor Dalit and Girijan families will also get free power up to 200 units per month, he said.

He said that the People's Front Government would give top priority to creation of jobs and would provide unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000 per month to 10 lakh jobless youth.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also vowed to make Huzur Nagar a model constituency not only in Telangana, but entire country. He said that the previous Congress regime had sanctioned Rs. 50 crore for the construction of Mattampally bridge. However, the TRS Government did not complete the bridge in the last four-and-a-half years. He promised that the bridge would be completed after election to improve connectivity with neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and turn the entire area into a commercial zone. He also promised to develop Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple at Mattapally on the lines of Yadagirigutta Temple.

He reminded that it was during his tenure as Huzurnagar MLA for the last two terms that the constituency got a Degree College, 100-bedded hospital, roads, lift irrigation, MRO office and also a police station. Stating that as the TPCC President he had to tour the entire State, he said he won't be able to campaign much in Huzur Nagar. Therefore, he appealed the Congress cadre and also the members of alliance parties to aggressively campaign for him to ensure Congress party victory with a majority of over 50,000 votes in next elections.

Later, Uttam Kumar Reddy held road shows and street corner meetings at various places which witnessed participation of huge crowds in the Huzurnagar constituency.
