Gautam Gambhir put the final punctuation mark to his remarkable career in style with a cracking century on Saturday. Playing in his final first-class match, Gambhir smashed 112 runs for Delhi in their Ranji Trophy match against Andhra.
Gautam Gambhir, who was 92 not out at stumps on Friday, brought up his 43rd first-class hundred with a quick double of Ayyappa Bandaru in the 4th over of the day at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi.
It was a short but sweet celebration as Gambhir acknowledged a round of applause from the sparsely populated crowd at Kotla.

The 37-year old added 12 more runs to his total before being caught behind off Shoaib Khan after playing 185 balls.
On Tuesday, Gambhir had posted a heartfelt and emotional video to announce his retirement from all formats of the game. Gambhir had announced that the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Andhra at the Feroz Shah Kotla would be the final game of his incredible cricketing career.
When Gambhir, who had got a guard of honour when stepped out to bat, was given a warm welcome by fans on Saturday morning. There were banners of ‘Thank You Gauti’ beside the New Pavilion at Kotla.
