'Operation Lotus' row: Delhi lawyer seeks CBI probe on allegations by Kejriwal, AAP leaders

New Delhi,  A Delhi-based lawyer on Friday filed a complaint seeking a CBI probe into Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's allegation that BJP is trying to poach AAP MLAs by offering Rs 800 crore.

In a letter addressed to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Subodh Jaiswal, Adv Vineet Jindal said some of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs also said in media that they have the evidence to prove their allegations of an attempt to buy MLAs by the BJP but did not share anything.

"This is not the first time such allegations have been made against the BJP, rather many times similar allegations have been made in the same reference of the BJP party being accused by Arvind Kejriwal for the attempt of buying the AAP MLAs," Jindal stated.

Nowadays, using the allegation of the defection of political parties to defame the opposition party and gain political mileage over the other parties by giving a false, negative view and giving a misrepresentation of the opposition is common.

While democracy is a government of the people, for the people, and by the people, but it is a sorry state of affairs that the political parties use false allegations to defame the other parties. The voters are left vulnerable to the statements of these political leaders who give statements vested in their party's interest. This makes the voters confused and uncertain about the choice of their representative.

It is imperative that the voters must know the truth and whether such allegations are true or false needs to be investigated to bring the real facts to the public so that the voters can't be manipulated by allegations made by political leaders.

These allegations are very serious in nature and need to be investigated to find the truth behind the allegations made by Arvind Kejriwal against BJP, he urged.

"Being a social activist and voter of Delhi, I, therefore, request you to investigate the present matter to protect and ensure the rights of each and every voter and provide them with the right to know the right facts pertaining to the allegations of the political party," he requested in the letter.
