Would be a Privilege if Given Chance to Become CM of MP: Jyotiraditya Scindia

It took 24 hours of counting for Madhya Pradesh to know the winner of the BJP Vs congress battle. And now the battleground has shifted to Madhya Pradesh Congress office.

As newly elected legislators debate on 'kaun banega mukhyamantri (who will be the CM), Jyotiraditya Scindia threw his hat in the ring. Speaking exclusively to CNN-News18, Scindia said, "It will be a privilege if given the chance to become Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh."

Scindia made no bones about the fact that he was very much a contender for the Chief Minister's chair. In contrast, PCC chief Kamal Nath has maintained that high command with decide the CM face. As the buzz around Kamal Nath's name grows in Bhopal and Delhi, Scindia supporters are shouting his name from roof tops.

At the Rajbhawan when Kamal Nath-led Congress delegation handed over the letter of support to the governor, Scindia supporters chanted his name outside the gate. The scenes were similar to what MPCC office saw at 2:30 am when Congress addressed the press conference.

MP Congress will meet on Wednesday evening. Central observer AK Antony will be present in the meeting as will be the rebel Congress candidates who have extended support to the party.

The local Congress leadership wants to ensure oath and swearing in of the new cabinet by December 14.
