Actress Asin Thottumkal gave birth to a healthy baby girl earlier today and confirmed the news in an official media statement.

Asin will turn 31 on October 26, and said on Instagram that it was ‘the best birthday gift ever’.

Asin and her husband Rahul Sharma, the CEO of Micromax, informed media of this good news: “We are ecstatic to announce the arrival of our angelic Baby Girl earlier today. The last 9 months have been most special and exciting for the both of us and We would like to thank all our well wishers and everyone who has been part of our journey for all their love and support.”

After Celina Jaitley-Peter Haag, Soha Ali Khan-Kunal Kemmu and Esha Deol-Bharat Takhtani, Asin and Rahul are Bollywood’s newest parents.

Asin who made her Bollywood debut opposite Aamir Khan in the remake of Tamil superhit film, ‘Ghajini’, got married with Rahul in private wedding ceremonies last year. It was Akshay Kumar, her co-star in Khiladi 786, who got the couple to meet, and was also the groom’s best man.

The couple tied the knot last year on January 19 in a Christian wedding ceremony followed by Hindu rituals near Delhi.

Although, her wedding made headlines, she kept her pregnancy under the wraps.
