Over 1.5L Candidates To Take JNU Entrance Exam

New Delhi: Over 1 lakh candidates will sit for the JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE) which is scheduled to be held between December 23 and 27, a statement issued by the varsity said.

The university is offering 720 seats for M.Phil/PhD courses, 459 for BA programmes and 1,118 seats for MA, M.Sc, M.Tech and MPH courses.

The administration had in May announced that the entrance exams for all the courses would be shifted from the usual period between May and June to December, starting this year.

“The university has earmarked 81 examination centres in various cities and towns encompassing all the states and union territories of the country and another centre in Kathmandu,” JNU Rector Chintamani Mahapatra, said in the statement.

The admission branch of the university will depute more than 200 teaching and non-teaching staff at all the centres.

A flying squad will also be deployed to hold surprise checks in select centres, it said.

The results will be announced in April next year and the registration of students will commence in July.
